The initiative proposes the sharing of stories and everyday images through #acervoimediato
Created by Denda Coletiva, the Immediate Collection project invites black people to contribute with their memories and experiences to build a virtual repertoire through instagram. Network users can share stories, experiences, imagery experiences or a moment in their day that was significant using the hashtag #acervoimediato and marking @dendacoletiva. The idea is to jointly create a collaborative digital collection on ancestral, affective, family and everyday visual memories.
Publications can also serve as inspiration in the artistic production being prepared by Bahian artists Jamile Cazumbá, Safira Moreira and Shai Andrade, invited by Denda who, the provocation “How to build the memory of the present?” and creative immersion, will produce visual narratives presented in a Virtual Artistic Exhibition, in the month of April. The aim is to mobilize, through art, new regimes of identity and representation, promoting the artistic production of black women.
Member of Denda and general coordinator of the project, Nathália Procópio, points out that there is a lot of stereotyped and negative image, produced by third parties, about the black population. “What we want is to build records of the plurality of black identity the perspective of these people, to compose positive memories of the now, loaded with affection, within the possible scenario in the daily lives of each one”, says Nathália.
Photographer and communicator, Hury Ahmadi participates in the movement by sharing images of the family and their experience in the city of Lençóis (Ba). “It was very spontaneous to connect with the idea because it is something that I have been practicing for some time. I believe that art can be a tool that causes changes, even if individual, in how we perceive and transit in the world, so composing these records allows us to trace reasons for the construction of the society we want ”.
The public interested in participating in the action can follow some guidelines suggested by the Collective Denda:
1 - Reflect the following provocation: how have you built the memories of the present?
2 - Explore instagram resources and feel free to create storie, post in the feed, reels, Igtv, etc.
3 - The shared content can portray a moment in your day, in your life or in family that is significant in the construction of this memory of the present. Your little daily rituals, places, objects, poetry, an excerpt a book or just an account of yourself.
4 - It is not mandatory to show your face. Explore your creative potential and the tools available as you wish!
The project is covered by the Anselmo Serrat Award for Artistic Languages, the Gregório de Mattos Foundation, Salvador City Hall, through the Cultural Emergency Law Aldir Blanc, with resources the Special Secretariat for Culture, Ministry of Tourism, Federal Government.
