With speakers giants like Ifood, Avon, Google and Magalu, the meeting is the first event of this size dedicated to the development of black people for the labor market in Brazil
The latest events and the pandemic scenario have opened up the often veiled inequality, prejudice and violence. It is, more than ever, evident that we need to act. When we talk about opportunities for black and white people, the Brazilian scenario is still a huge social abyss.
The lack of representativeness in companies is, among other factors, one of the reasons for making this disparity so great. To get an idea, according to the data the Synthesis of Social Indicators (SIS), released by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), black workers, even when they have the same skills, receive a salary up to 31% less than whites who occupy the same position.
For social and strategic reasons, but mainly for survival in talking about the theme, the Summit Potências Negras, organized by Ana Minuto and Escola Profissas, brings a whole day of classes and panels to empower the black community and provoke a proactive discussion in the market.
On March 30, 9 am to 8:30 pm, there will be 10 hours of content completely free. Speakers include Christiane Silva Pinto, marketing manager at Google Brazil, Vitor Martins, specialist in Diversity and Inclusion at Nubank, Guilherme Peixoto, bidding superintendent at B3, the leader of inclusion strategies at CI&T, Rafael Pimenta, among other speakers with representativeness and active participation in the cause.
One of the great missions of the virtual meeting is to show that diversity in companies goes beyond respecting and accepting differences.
“IT IS FUNDAMENTAL TO UNDERSTAND THAT A DIVERSE TEAM IS MORE RICH, IMPROVES THE RESULTS OF THE COMPANY AND CONTRIBUTES TO BUSINESS SUCCESS. AT THE EVENT, IT IS IMPORTANT AND NECESSARY THAT PARTICIPANTS AND SPEAKERS STRENGTHEN THE IDEA THAT EVERYONE, TOGETHER THROUGH THE EDUCATION THAT EMPOWERS, SHALL FORM PROTAGONISTS AND BREAK THE BARRIER OF THE INEQUALITY OF ONCE UPON ALL, “DETACHED VICTORIA, LUCKY DETACHED, DETACHED CHARACTERISTICITY, DETACHED CHARACTERISTICS, UNDERSTANDING TEACHER DETACHED, DETACHED TEACHING. BLACK POWERS SUMMIT.
Major brands such as Avon, Ifood, Ambev Tech, Netflix, Zé Delivery, IBM, RD Station, Loft and Ebanx are committed to changing this reality by joining the Black Powers, empowering the black community and fighting racial inequality in the labor market.
The Potências Negras Summit has the support of companies: Trampos, Distrito, 99jobs, Instituto Guetto, Negras Plurais, Black Money Movement, Uzoma, On Hub, Bruna Gal Produções, Vitamina Vídeo, Canário Assessoria de Marketing and Lá na Firma.
In 2020, in the face of the crisis caused by the pandemic of the new coronavirus, racial inequality in the Brazilian labor market was accentuated. This is what official data the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and the Ministry of Economy show.
According to the IBGE, in the first three months of the pandemic, the unemployment rate among blacks increased by 2.6 percentage points and that of browns, 1.4. Among whites, the increase was only 0.6 percentage points. The unemployment rate among blacks was 17.8%, and among browns, 15.4%. Whites were 10.4%, 2.9 percentage points below the country's general rate, which was 13.3%.
According to surveys by Vaga.com, one of the largest job offer sites in the country, black workers have reduced participation in middle and senior management positions. The survey points out that the majority of blacks and browns occupy operational (47.6%) and technical positions (11.4%), a higher number than those reported by whites, indigenous people and yellows. The minority among blacks, on the other hand, say they hold management and coordination positions: only 0.7% hold managerial positions, while among whites, indigenous and yellow, this proportion is 2%.
“IT IS UNSTABLE THAT STRUCTURAL RACISM IN BRAZIL NEEDS TO BE COMBATED. FOR THAT, IT IS NECESSARY TO KNOW THE HISTORY, ITS BASES TO THE TOP, TO UNDERSTAND HOW IT IS REFLECTED IN OUR SOCIETY AND IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE IDENTITY OF BLACK PEOPLE. WE EXPECT, WITH THE EVENT, TO PROPOSE PROPOSITIVE DISCUSSIONS ON HOW TO FORM BLACK POWERS AND GIVE ACCESS TO REAL OPPORTUNITIES TO OUR COMMUNITY ”, HIGHLIGHTS ANA MINUTE, IDEALIZER OF THE EVENT AND BLACK WOMAN, WITH 25 YEARS OF CAREER DEDICATED TO RACIAL INCLUSION.
Donations to the Black Money Movement
On the day of the event, a QR code will be made available in which participants will be able to make voluntary donations to the Black Money Movement, directed to the AfreekTech project. MBM is the innovation hub for the ion and autonomy of the black community in the digital age and transformation of the black entrepreneurial ecosystem.
