Of the 302 Brazilian athletes that make up the Brazilian delegation for the 2020 Olympics, only Bruninho, volleyball, and Ketleyn Quadros, judo, will participate in the opening ceremony this Friday (23) at Tokyo's National Stadium.
But to make up for the absence at the event, the Brazilian athletes made a symbolic parade in the Olympic village.
With all competitors wearing masks, the Brazilians gathered in the village streets to get a feel for the opening atmosphere.
The flag bearers Bruninho and Ketleyn carried the Brazilian symbol, while the other athletes held little flags of the country and Japan.
They all wore the official ceremony uniform and slippers to withstand the heat in Tokyo.
